This is along the river Lyss, near the crossroad where Rox and Rytlock go to The Henge.

The party stumbles upon a village, apparently abandoned, as no one is to be seen. Though the buildings still look to be in working order. Doors open and shut, no people to be seen. Sheep can be heard baa-ing, though the barn is empty. Trying to interact with one of the invisible townsfolk directs them to the innkeeper/mayor. The mayor tells them of a wizard who’s taken up residence in an abandoned fort a ways north of town. He is thought to be the culprit.

It’s an hour’s walk up to the fort. Along the way, birdsong without birds can be heard, and the party is attacked by 3d4 invisible wolves (normal wolves, but they cannot be seen through normal means)  Getting to the fort, it’s all quiet. The inside of the fort is just a large room with tables along the walls. A pulled-out chair and a book lie at the far side of the room. As they enter, the chair scrapes the floor, the book slams shut. The wizard shouts “Who goes there?”

However the party proceeds, diplomatic or otherwise, they obtain a scroll. A DC10 arcana check identifies the scroll as a dispel magic, DC15 realizes it’s specifically geared to undo invisibility over a large range.
